Fertility symbols appear in all cultures dating back into the distant past, with couples traditionally being offered such gifts on their wedding day, to ensure that the wedding night would prove successful.
Despite this, however, some couples still face difficulties trying to conceive,
some men, quite incorrectly, associate infertility with impotence, and feel embarrassed or ashamed that their partner is not conceiving, whilst their partner feels that she is doing something ‘wrong’ because she is not getting pregnant.
Whatever the cause, infertility is a problem faced by couples, and can best be addressed by working together.
Many women through the ages have looked to Gemstones traditionally associated with boosting their fertility. However, our understanding of reproductive health has increased, and we now know that failure to conceive is not entirely down to the female.
Gemstones are now also associated with male reproductive health, for those prospective fathers who have perhaps been diagnosed with a low sperm count, or poor motility, or are going through assisted conception such as IVF.
I have put together this ‘couples’ set, so that you can each feel part of this journey together, each of you wearing Gemstones that have traditionally been used to help to overcome barriers to conception. It has been specifically designed for couples who have been trying unsuccessfully to conceive for some time with no explanation, or for those with specific physical conditions, such as female endometriosis or PCOS, or low sperm count and moltility.
The bracelets you receive will be made using genuine 6/8mm Gemstones, threaded onto a waxed cotton cord, completed with a sliding knot.
There are a number of different gemstones that have long been associated with fertility and the whole process of birth, however I am afraid that Etsy regulations mean that I can no longer detail the specific properties that each gemstone is believed to offer. I am happy to discuss your specific requirements should you wish, and we can work together to decide which would be the most suitable gemstones for you.
If you aren’t able to give details, because the bracelet is for someone else or because you’re uncomfortable discussing details, then I am happy to intuitively select those I feel most meet your needs.
