I am a carer for my 70 year old husband, who suffers from clinical depression and has some mobility issues. I also suffer from anxiety and depression. We have 5 dogs and a small flock of pet chickens. I work 2 days a week in a dentists but I am being made redundant so want to expand on my small business to make up the loss in income.
I have been a crafter since I was a child. Both my mum & grandma were crafters so passed their knowledge on to me & my sister. I started my business back in 2015 when I saw a book fold that my mum had made. I had a go and soon became addicted. I then bought some software to design my own patterns and now have more that 1,000 patterns to my name.

Privacy Policy

Zoe’s Novel Creations Data Privacy Policy 2018
The new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on 25th May 2018, and as an online seller, I legally must set out, in writing, my privacy policy.
I have a full data protection policy, but the following is a friendlier, easy to read version. You can find my full policy on my Facebook Page under ‘Privacy’ in the ‘about’ section. or in my Etsy store
Zoe’s Novel Creations is a small online craft business that sells on Etsy, eBay, CraftsUPrint, The Silk Purse Guild, Folksy, Conscious Crafties, as well as through my own website and Facebook Page (see link above).
1. I only collect basic personal data, which may include your name, email address and postal details. This is so that I can process your order, and deal with any queries you may have.

2. When ordering through any of my selling platforms, you will make your payment through that platform. This automatically gives me the data I need to fulfil your order. If you order through my Facebook page, then I can send you an invoice via PayPal. Your information will never be used for any other purpose other than processing your order, or for emailing you regarding your order/query. Your data will be held within those sites, or on PayPal.

3. I will never sell or give any of your data to any third-parties unless it is necessary to fulfil your order. For example, I may need to give your address to a courier or other postal services to process your order. These third-parties are themselves GDPR compliant.

4. Under the new GDPR rules, customers have a right to access their personal data and to know how and where it’s being used, and for what purpose. You can also restrict how data is used and shared, and also request that any data held be amended or deleted. I have no control over how long each of the selling platforms mentioned in my introduction keep their data.

5. Your order details and data will be kept as both paper & digital records for at least 6 years, to fulfil my legal requirements to HMRC, and will be used for tax purposes only. Digital records will be kept on a spread sheet on my password protected laptop which is kept in a secure place, and paper records are kept locked in a secure cabinet. After this period of time, all paper documents/records will be shredded and disposed of, and all digital records will be deleted. Your messages and emails will be kept for a maximum of 1 year. After this time all messages will be deleted. I have no control over how long each of the aforementioned selling platforms keep their records and messages.

6. Any photographs provided by you, to help me fulfil your order, (for example flowers to show me colour schemes, or family photos to be turned into a book folding pattern) will be kept for 1 year and then deleted. I will never use these photographs for any other purpose other than for fulfilling your order, unless I have your permission to do so.

7. Any photographs you may provide as a result of testing any of my book folding patterns, will be used in my listings on all my selling platforms, and for advertising purposes.

8. Cookies- All the selling platforms and third-party service providers mentioned in my introduction use cookies, to improve your security and online browsing experience on their websites. You can find all the relevant links to their policies in section 15 of my full GDPR policy.

Returns Policy

My refund and returns policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, I cannot offer you a refund or exchange.

Most of my physical products are personalised, so I can only accept returns for goods that are damaged upon arrival. Photos showing this damage must be provided before any return is considered. If an item has arrived damaged, and proof has been provided, then I will either replace this item, or offer a full refund (including the postage).

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Due to the nature of downloaded digital items, these cannot be returned for a refund. All patterns have been tested (with the exception of custom ones), so you should not find any errors on them. If you DO find a problem with a pattern, please email me at [email protected] to inform me of the problem. I will look into this for you, and correct the error where appropriate. I cannot be held responsible for the experience or competence of the folder.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:

Items with obvious signs of use
Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment, within a couple of days.

Late or missing refunds
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items
Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded.

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at [email protected] and I can give you the return address.

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

Shipping returns
To return your product, in the first instance you should email me at [email protected] I will then provide the return address to you.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
