Description

This is a listing for one Summer Bee Necklace and Earrings, Bead Work Set. The necklace is made in a technique called tubular herringbone bead stitch. I used high quality fire-line beading thread. The seed beads used in the chain are crystal and frosted crystal.the clasp is a simple silver plated lobster clasp with a extension chain. At the end of the extension chain there is a amazonite chip and a cherry quartz chip. I created vines running through the beaded necklace with light green seed beads, In the centre of some of this vines are amazonite chips, cherry quartz chips and beaded blue bells. The pendant in the middle of the necklace is a multi-coloured flower with a beaded bee collecting from it. The earrings are also beaded and feature are gemstones, (amazonite and cherry quartz) a beaded blue bell and a beaded bee.

The necklace is 38cm (15″) long or 46cm (18″) with the extension chain. The herringbone rope is about 0.6cm wide. The necklace is 6cm from the rope to the end of the bee. The earrings hang to 7cm and are 3.5cm wide,

This would make a very impressive summer necklace or a great gift for a nature lover. It would make a great gift for someone who collects bead work.

All of my items come with a free gift bag.

Such a cute set. Will be wearing this summer!

Hello I am mummy and carer to twins Michael and Amber. They are now 9 years old. They were born 14 weeks premature (Michael 13 weeks and a day). Michael has Cerebral Palsy, which is damage to the brain that he probably suffered before he was born as I had an infection. He has very limited motor skills. He cannot walk, sit by himself and has trouble directing his arms to pick things up. He has to be cared for by an adult at all times as he can do very little for himself. Amber his twin is a different story she is Autistic. She has very few words and is very sensitive to sound. She has to do everything on her terms and can sometimes put herself in danger. She is very behind other children her age. She is very clumsy and sometimes freezes or just falls without warning. Both the twins have started special needs assessment nurseries this term for 2 days a week.
When the twins were in there first year, before I even knew the twins had their disabilities, I started making jewellery. I needed something to distract me after going through 4 months of NICU with the twins. I found it to be amazing therapy. I started with bead weaving then started doing wire-work. My work is inspired by nature and animals and gemstones as these are the things i have always enjoyed. I have an etsy shop and it does ok but I really feel I need the community side to crafting. It can be very lonely when you are a carer, being tired all the time and getting out is not so easy with a child in a wheel chair and an autistic child who will just wonder off given the chance. I could dream of taking them to a craft fair with me as they are at the moment. Amber does enjoy stringing her wooden beads like her mummy though!

Thank you for reading my story x
