Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Sterling Silver Ring
Size N 1/2
The sleeping beauty turquoise mine is near Globe, Arizona. The stone received its name from the mountains around the mine, which are shaped like a sleeping woman.
The mine was known for producing brilliant sky blue turquoise with little to no markings, webbing, or matrix, making it very valuable and sought after. Since the mine was closed down in 2012, sleeping beauty stones are even more scarce and desired.
The silver in my pieces come under the exemption weight, which is less than 7.78g, so therefore, they don’t require a hallmark. Anything over 7.78g, requires a hallmark by law.
