Made to order custom medical walking frame / zimmer frame bags. Made in YOUR choice of fabrics to give you the opportunity to show your own personality with this practical accessory.
I need to use a zimmer frame myself when my Arthritis flares up and for many years I resorted to using a carrier bag tied to my walker to enable me to carry a sandwich or bottle of water from the kitchen to the sofa or carry other things around. I had looked at some ‘off the shelf’ bags on mainstream market places but found them very boring and practical looking. Being a lover of bright happy colours I wanted something to reflect my own personality when using my walker as well as cheer me up when my health took a turn for the worse. So I made the pictured one for me
This is perfect for storing or carrying those everyday items when using a walking frame, leaving your hands free to safely hold the frame. Ideal for glasses, books, a bottle of drink, snacks, TV remote, phone etc as you move about the home.
As you can see the pictured bag is fully lined (I am a bit of a sucker for rainbows and stripes but it can also be lined in a plain fabric!) The back of the back is designed to sit flush within the frame, on this one the top of the back part of the bag is 23.5 cm and the bottom of the back of the bag is 28.5 cm. I made the front of the bag a bit wider so that the bag would flare outwards to create a bit of a bucket effect. I added a couple of gathers at the bottom of the front so it tapered back in again at the bottom. I have used interfacing between the outer and inner fabrics so it has a good sturdy feel to it and so it holds its own shape. My frame is a standard sized adult zimmer frame.
I have not added any additional pockets to the one in the picture made for me as I didn’t feel it really needed any but if you would prefer additional pockets like a phone pocket for instance then I would be happy to work this into it.
It is secured in place with hook and loop tape over both the top of the frame and also the sides. I will check with you what size your frame is so we can ensure that the bag you order is a good fit, for this reason I can also cater for Bariatric/wider frames.
These bags are individually priced depending on how much fabric is needed and the price of your chosen fabric (Guide price for this one was £30) Email me via [email protected] to discuss what kind of fabrics you would like and any extra modifications needed like additional pockets or a longer/wider bag. Once I have sourced the perfect fabrics for you I can confirm a price and if you are happy to proceed with ordering I will send you a private link to pay for your commissioned bag. I ask for full payment upfront on all commissioned items. I usually allow myself 7 days for making this once the fabric arrives.
