Description
Gloriously celebrating Carmen Miranda’s fruity hat habit, “Carmen” is the fruitiest necklace I could possibly make. At 22 inches long, it is braided using 24 strands of DMC cotton into a watermelon kumihimo pattern and is finished with silver-plated, swirly endcaps, a heart-shaped lobster clasp and a 2 inch extension chain.
At its centre hangs a pendant made from a trio of stunningly realistic resin fruits – a strawberry, a lemon slice and a satsuma segment – flanked on either side by even more fruit: an apple, a bunch of grapes and a banana slice all made from polymer clay.
Sun hats and sangrias at the ready – this necklace was made to party!
