This is a listing for one Wire Wrapped Mouse Necklace. The pendant has been handcrafted in copper wire, using pliers and a hammer to strengthen it. I weaved the beads in place with thin copper wire. The beads in the face are a pink seed bead, a copper bead and an black onyx eye. The main stone in the belly is a smooth ruby bead. This stone is dark red. The mouse has a cute heart shaped tail. The pendant has been oxidized with liver of sulphur. This make the copper darker and gives it an aged look which shows off the weave better. The pendant comes with a bronze chain. If you would prefer a faux suede necklace please leave me a note or message me.
The mouse pendant is 2cm by 2cm. the chain is 18 inches.
All my items come with a gift bag and are gift wrapped. If you would like this pendant to be a brooch or a sun catcher or something else please message me. I’d be happy to change it for you.

Hello I am mummy and carer to twins Michael and Amber. They are now 4 years old. They were born 14 weeks premature (Michael 13 weeks and a day). Michael has Cerebral Palsy, which is damage to the brain that he probably suffered before he was born as I had an infection. He has very limited motor skills. He cannot walk, sit by himself and has trouble directing his arms to pick things up. He has to be cared for by an adult at all times as he can do very little for himself. Amber his twin is a different story she is Autistic. She has very few words and is very sensitive to sound. She has to do everything on her terms and can sometimes put herself in danger. She is very behind other children her age. She is very clumsy and sometimes freezes or just falls without warning. Both the twins have started special needs assessment nurseries this term for 2 days a week.
When the twins were in there first year, before I even knew the twins had their disabilities, I started making jewellery. I needed something to distract me after going through 4 months of NICU with the twins. I found it to be amazing therapy. I started with bead weaving then started doing wire-work. My work is inspired by nature and animals and gemstones as these are the things i have always enjoyed. I have an etsy shop and it does ok but I really feel I need the community side to crafting. It can be very lonely when you are a carer, being tired all the time and getting out is not so easy with a child in a wheel chair and an autistic child who will just wonder off given the chance. I could dream of taking them to a craft fair with me as they are at the moment. Amber does enjoy stringing her wooden beads like her mummy though!
Thank you for reading my story x
