This is a listing for one Wire Wrapped Fairy Rat Pendant Necklace. The pendant has been handcrafted with copper wire. The cabochon is rainbow moonstone. This stone looks white but flashes blue in the light. I have set the stone with a pretty detailed weave and shaped the rat and her wings with pliers. The tail goes into a heart shape. The wings have a blue faceted labradorite drop inn the top wing and a rainbow moonstone round in the bottom wing. Her face has more wire weaving detail and a faceted fluorite bead. She has a black onyx eye and a pink Swarovski bicone nose. Her bail has been wrapped in. The fairy has a magic staff. There is a Swarovski multi-coloured heart bead in on the top. The pendant has been oxidized with liver of sulphur. This gives the pendant a dark and an aged look and shows off the weaves. The Pendant comes with a black faux suede necklace. I can change it for a bronze chain. Just leave me a note with your order or message me.
The pendant is 6.5cm by 6m . The chain is 18 inches
All my items come with a gift bag and are gift wrapped. If you would like this pendant to be a brooch or a sun catcher or something else please message me. I’d be happy to change it for you.

Hello I am mummy and carer to twins Michael and Amber. They are now 4 years old. They were born 14 weeks premature (Michael 13 weeks and a day). Michael has Cerebral Palsy, which is damage to the brain that he probably suffered before he was born as I had an infection. He has very limited motor skills. He cannot walk, sit by himself and has trouble directing his arms to pick things up. He has to be cared for by an adult at all times as he can do very little for himself. Amber his twin is a different story she is Autistic. She has very few words and is very sensitive to sound. She has to do everything on her terms and can sometimes put herself in danger. She is very behind other children her age. She is very clumsy and sometimes freezes or just falls without warning. Both the twins have started special needs assessment nurseries this term for 2 days a week.
When the twins were in there first year, before I even knew the twins had their disabilities, I started making jewellery. I needed something to distract me after going through 4 months of NICU with the twins. I found it to be amazing therapy. I started with bead weaving then started doing wire-work. My work is inspired by nature and animals and gemstones as these are the things i have always enjoyed. I have an etsy shop and it does ok but I really feel I need the community side to crafting. It can be very lonely when you are a carer, being tired all the time and getting out is not so easy with a child in a wheel chair and an autistic child who will just wonder off given the chance. I could dream of taking them to a craft fair with me as they are at the moment. Amber does enjoy stringing her wooden beads like her mummy though!
Thank you for reading my story x
