Sporty and fun describes these trainer and socks slippers
Designed and hand knitted by me, these slipper booties are perfect for relaxing, whilst ensuring stylish toastie toes. They would look great to wear whilst chilling in your trackies or pyjamas at home and would make great slippers for your little fashionistas.
This design can be made from infants to adult sizes. Child and adult sizes will come complete with silicone strips to make them non-slip, unless requested otherwise.
They can also be made in any colour combination
These are perfect for keeping feet warm, especially for those with circulation problems or conditions where cold feet are a problem. They are functional but also fun to wear.
All of my designs feature a stretchy ribbed cuff that ensures they are comfortable to wear without being too tight.
My designs have developed from wanting something fun to wear myself, as my feet feel the cold due to my condition. I wanted something a little different, so turned to my knitting needles to create things I love and hope other chronic ill friends will love them too.

Hi, my name is Carol but most people call me Carrie. My story started just before Christmas 2012. I was icing a Christmas cake, which was lovely but woke up the next morning with an awful pain in my arm. Fast forward until after the New Year and it hadn’t improved, so I went off to the GP to have it checked and to see if they could give me some pain killers. I was sent for some blood tests (just in case) and received a phone call from my GP saying I needed an urgent referral to a Rheumatologist.
To cut a long story short I have now been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, severe disc degeneration in my lower and cervical spine, Tenosynovitis and Osteoarthritis in my hands, a narrowing in the lower part of my Aorta on top of my exisitng Type 1 Diabetes and Asthma. I often joke that I should be sent to the vets but despite being in constant pain and having chronic fatigue, I’m determined to battle on.
However it hasn’t always been easy. I worked as a Nurse until 2012 and so had always been a busy bee. The worsening of the Fibro has seen me now need a stick, something I am still struggling to come to terms with. The problems with memory and brain function associated with Fibro means that I loose my words, have trouble comprehending things and have a terrible memory. These and other aspects of the condition (there are over 200 symptoms) and the loss of my ‘well self’ means that I have battled with depression and anxiety.
My saviours have been my partner and my knitting.
My partner fills in words when I get frustrated or when I say ‘thingy’ – he’s great at knowing what I mean.
My knitting helps me feel I have achieved something.
Like anyone living with chronic illness, everyday is a struggle but the important thing for me is to say I’m living with it, not suffering from it.
