I only learnt to sew in early 2018 due to having to leave my 12 year NHS career to look after my eldest. He has Asperger’s and needed taking out of mainstream secondary school. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself and my family. I also struggle with anxiety and depression, making things has helped me but I don’t have the confidence to sell my makes. I started as I needed to do something with my time and we had just bought our first home (timing, great as always). We had a quote for blinds putting up and I nearly fainted at the price. Instead of ending up buying cheap ones I bought a sewing machine and taught myself to sew. I hadn’t used a machine since the driving licence sewing machine test at school. I learnt along the way and I enjoy it so much!
I like to create beautiful unique items. I specialise in fabric items from tooth fairy pillows and lavender bags to large window seat cushions and everything in between. My favourite things are made to measure items and one of a kind makes.
