Sterling Silver Baby Loss Memorial Pendant with Birthstone

Order Note

This listing is for a .925 Sterling Silver miscarriage and baby loss memorial charm necklace to mark the heartbreaking loss of a much wanted baby.
This is a beautiful piece to remind you that you will always be a mother, even if your arms are empty, a bittersweet thought, but one that will ultimately give you the strength to carry on.

The necklace comprises a delicate, .925 Sterling Silver 18 inch chain, with a Sterling Silver disc, imprinted with Baby footprints, alongside a dainty Sterling silver heart, with an infinity cradled within. Both the infinity heart and the footprint disc measure 11mm across,
This is a beautiful, subtle reminder that your baby will be forever held within your heart, the perfect way to honour and acknowledge this little life.
The photograph shows the necklace paired with a beautiful freshwater pearl, threaded delicately onto Sterling silver. Pearls represent both motherhood and tears, achingly appropriate in this situation.
However should you wish, you can choose to replace the pearl with a genuine 8mm Gemstone Birthstone instead.
Many jewellers use coloured glass to prepresent the Birthstones associated with each month, but I prefer the natural beauty of the genuine article. The final photograph in the listing shows the Birthstones associated with each month, as well as an indication of the Gemstone’s colour. Select your preference, the freshwater pearl or a birthstone from the list, and type into the options box.
If you would like an alternative Gemstone not mentioned, please contact me, and if I have it in stock, I will be happy to substitute it.

If you wish to represent more than a single loss, (and my heart goes out to you), we can discuss the addition of an extra Birthstone.
Please be aware, however, that the necklace chain is very delicate, and Gemstones can be heavy, so that more than 2 Gemstones will look cluttered, as well as increasing the risk of breakage.

I do hope that wearing this delicate and subtle reminder can help to ease your grief, and to enable you to keep the memory of your lost little one forever in your heart.

⚠️ This necklace is on a delicate Sterling Silver chain, which is a very soft metal, and therefore is fragile and will not withstand rough handling.
Consequently the charms used need to be small and lightweight also. Before ordering, please check that you are aware and understand the actual size of the charms, to avoid disappointment. As stated above, the charms both measure 11mm across (1cm), and the Gemstone is approx 8 mm.
Please be advised that the chain or the rings attaching the charms WILL break if subjected to sharp pulls or tugs, such as catching in a hairbrush, or on a coat button etc, and should not be worn when sleeping if you wish to prevent breakages. Additionally, any damage from wear and tear will be rapidly escalated if the piece is exposed to water, shampoo, perfumes and lotions, so should be removed before showering or bathing, and be protected against exposure to chemical products etc.

I used to be an active primary school teacher, until problems arising from Congenital Hip Dislocation and Bi Lateral Hip Dysplasia. Shortly after the birth of my children, I developed Severe Arthritis in my left hip. After some time and waiting lists (another story!) I had a hip replacement on my left hip. I returned to work and caring for my family, but the hip was never ‘right’ and still caused issues. To cut a very long story short, after multiple surgeries, eventually a severe bone infection was found. This meant removal of the entire prosthesis and iv antibiotic before replacing the hip again. However, Chronic Pain ensued. And ultimately I was offered the option of total permanent removal of the implant leaving me disabled but without pain. Sadly, that didn’t work out too well, and the same level of pain ensued. I was referred to various PMU and underwent many procedures, and have had a spinal cord stimulator implant.

Gemstones have long been my passion, and I’ve always dabbled making gemstone bracelets and pressing them onto my long suffering friends whenever they mentioned some ailment. It was a natural progression for me, when I had to retire from teaching on medical grounds, to begin making my jewellery to sell. This began simply as a way to keep busy, whilst I was in and out of hospital, and I only ever made items to order for people I knew.. but they were paying me, so I could buy more sparkly rocks!
Now I make all sorts of jewellery, but each item is still made with as much love as those first bracelets, and the recipient is the main focus at the centre of everything I create.
So I’m afraid I don’t have ready made items that I can pop into a Jiffy bag when you order, but I will create a specially commissioned piece just for you!
This story started with me as an active young(ish) mum with a career I loved. Now my children are post University, working and living their own lives, my husband is my carer, and I spend a lot of time in bed!
