A polished Tigers-eye stone, wrapped in fine silver, to create a gorgeous one of a kind pendant.
The creation of this necklace was really a happy accident. A couple years ago I was working on a design for a competition. It was of a pendant made in fine silver, and sadly the first attempt broke in half. Rather than crush it all up and re-use, I decided to keep them and use them for something else. So it got fired and polished along with other pieces, and then set aside for a later purpose.
I found this Tigers-eye stone in my large stash (ahem) and I wanted a different way of hanging the stone as a pendant for a necklace. I remembered the broken in half pieces of silver and decided that would be perfect. So I set the stone in the silver, to create a one of a kind, unique pendant, and put it onto a sterling silver 18 inch necklace (the other piece was also used for a piece of semi-polished turquoise).
As the fine silver that I used on the pendant is under the requirement weight of 7.8gms, it is not hallmarked, but I am registered with Assay Office in Birmingham.
For the necklace and silver part of the pendant, use a silver polishing cloth.
For the Tigers-eye a clean damp cloth.

Hello all. I’m Sarah and I’m a Carer for my youngest son who is (ASD) – Autistic. As he’s gotten older it’s clear someone has to be around all the time for him, as he cannot be left on his own. So I made the decision to give up secular work, so I could be there for him, and give him the care he needs. But I couldn’t just not do anything, I’d go stir-crazy 😄 And I want to be able to help provide in any way possible, also Conner is quite Arty/Crafty, so this might help him as he gets older too.
I’ve always been an arty person, I went to art college after finishing school, but never did anything with it, as I didn’t really know what I wanted at the time. Making jewellery was a hobby, so now I had the time, turn it into something more. So Sarah’s Nik Naks handmade jewellery and accessories was born. I wanted the name to be something different and quirky, and came up with that and I love it. I love making all my products and trying new things, and making something that you won’t find anywhere else. All of the jewellery boxes used for my jewellery are either, recycled or I make my own. I am also Hallmark registered with the Assay office in Birmingham, as I make fine silver and sterling silver jewellery. So, some of my pieces I make are hallmarked, for silver if the weight is 7.8gms and under it is not required, but you are required to be registered, which I am. Thanks for reading and I hope you like what I make xx
