The Irish Mountains collection
A warm colour palate of natural dies that are softly tonal – reflecting the heather colours of the Northern Ireland hills and mountains.
The viscose chenille warp mixes with the unusual weft of wool, silk, cotton and polyester that have been spun together. Small flecks of silk added during this spinning add a subtle, speckled texture reminiscent of Donegall tweed.
The patterns consist of a plaid – a window Pane check and a plain weave. The heavy body weight of this fabric combines with 100% cottons and the occasional cheeky satin mix make this collection memorable for its textile touch – scrummy.
Sometimes you come across some amazing fabric that just screams out to you to create something with it. This glorious tweedy fabric is outstanding. It is a thick, rough looking weave – but it has silk and cotton in the mix as well – so it is really soft. It is actually an upholstery fabric and it sells at a whopping £84 a meter. I bought a sample book with pieces of all the different colour ways – so this range will be a very small range of bags – with all the designs especially created to suit the fabric.
This is a little satchel / attache style case. It would suit a daily handbag – but would also be amazing as a media case for your tablet – notebook – phone – camera. Or a fantastic art case to keep a small sketchbook and pens with you all the time.
The bag is 9 1/2″ wide – 8″ high – with a top fold over flap and a small carry handle.
The outer fabric is a rich oatmeal colour with darker browns – and blues for the different stripes. There is a 100% cotton blue herringbone trim round the bag – on the handle and for the tab that holds the D ring. There are 2 tuck lock clasps set onto the herringbone to close the flap. On the inside we have a 100% cotton fabric with sketched dog outlines that have bright colour pops on their collars – ears – tongues – a really fab fun secret inside to what looks a serious straight laced outer!
I have set a coordinating fabric tab with a D ring at one end of the bag – and I have added a couple of little doggie theme charms for an extra bit of prettiness. All of the bags and purses comes with it’s own Barker & Crabbe logo pin badge.
All the seams are fully enclosed so the inside is as neat as the outside – beautiful.
The fabrics are padded with a high loft fleece for softness and ‘bounce’ – and a firm stabilizer for strength and support. I don’t add any cardboard or plastic sheet – this makes the item fully washable at 30
The bag has been finished with an ironed spray starch – and I give the finished item a quick spray with a protective spray to resist the dirt.
These are all completed items ready to send out to you. I only make small quantities of these – so grab yours while you can.
Postage – for items under £25 – £2.00 per item
– for items over £25 – there is no postage charge and signed for postage is automatic
I now ship internationally. Each parcel goes tracked and signed for via The Royal Mail. I have to add each country individually to the system – so if yours is not on the list message me and I will add it for you.

I am a fully trained, professional seamstress with an insane passion for patterns and colours and way too much fabric. My big love is dogs – and you will find loads of my work features dog pattern fabrics for a really unique look. I started this new venture so that I could have an outlet for my bag making ideas, continue learning new skills, drafting my own patterns and have a little world of my own.
My bags and purses are all individual, interesting pieces – and you will find loads of hidden little extras. I love pockets, dividers and hidden zip pouches – and although I draw out my own basic patterns – I am constantly tweaking it so you will never get 2 the same. You will only ever find a small number of bags and purses listed because I take so much time over them.
I only ever use 100% cotton patterned fabrics – with high quality interfacing and wadding in between. I don’t ever add any cardboard or plastic sheets – this means that you can pop any of them into the washing machine – I do recommend that you put them into a washing bag or pillow case first.
I use high quality sliders that have been especially handmade for me and they are lovely and solid with beautiful curved ends.
My signature touch is always adding a couple of little charms to the zip slider.
You will find other examples of my sewing projects listed for sale – all of which have been made with the same attention to professional detail.
