Rose Cut Pietersite Sterling Silver Ring.
I’ve given this a zig zag band as this stone has always reminded me of stormy skies.
Pietersite is a rare dark-gray or reddish breccia aggregate (rock made up of fragments embedded in a matrix), comprised mostly of hawk’s eye and tiger’s eye. Pietersite from Namibia was first described in 1962 by Sid Pieters, who named it in his father’s honour.
The silver in my pieces come under the exemption weight, which is less than 7.78g, so therefore, they don’t require a hallmark. Anything over 7.78g, requires a hallmark by law.
