Custom Pet Portraits in Pastel

This listing is for the purchase of a pastel pet portrait, which is created by me, using photos of your pet taken by you. All I need is 1 high-quality photo of your pet to work from in the pose you would like them drawing in.

Your Pet Portrait Size

This is for an 8×10 inch portrait (single pet), as you can see in the main photo the portrait fills a reasonable size within this space. A high-quality picture mount is also included. The springer spaniel portrait in my listing photos is an example of an 8×10 portrait in a white mount. I do offer other sizes, if you can’t find what you are looking for just get in touch and I can do a custom size for you.

How is Your Portrait Created?

My pastel pet portraits are created using pastel sticks, pan pastels and pastel pencils. The vast majority of the detail comes to life using pastel pencils. I mostly use dark grey pastelmat paper when doing a pastel pet portrait, this can then be filled in, to a colour of your choice. Some popular colours include grey and blue and even pink.

A pastel pet portrait is a great choice for any kind of pet, whether you want to commission a dog portrait, horse portrait or any other animal. I have even done a gerbil portrait! All pet portraits in pastel come mounted and ready for you to put into a frame of your choice.

How Do I Purchase a Pet Portrait in Pastels

The process is very easy, all I need is your photo. Once I have that together we can come up with a composition you love. To ensure the process is as smooth as possible, please take a look at my photography guide to make sure you can take a photograph that is of a high enough quality for your portrait. The better the photo, the better the pet portrait. Simply get in touch via the “Ask a Question” tab and we can get started!

Hi everyone, my name is Amy and I am “conscious craftie” because I have ankylosing spondylitis.

I have my health problems to thank for becoming an artist. I was inspired to start drawing a year after getting my lovely dog, Monty. My little Miniature Schnauzer came into my life as a way to help me cope with suffering from poor health and he really is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I am sure many others with health problems can attest to the positive effect our pets can have on our lives and mental health.

I have always been someone to have a go at different crafts and when I saw some pet portraits on Instagram, I thought why not try and have a go and do a portrait of Monty myself? It went quite well and I have never looked back!

I love creating realistic portraits of peoples pets in pastels. All I require is a high-quality photograph to turn into a pastel pet portrait.
