When I was a teenager, I suffered my first panic attack. Thinking they were protecting me, my parents wrapped me up in cotton wool and tried to make life easier for me. I now know and I don’t blame them as they did what they thought was best at the time, that had they made me face my fears at the time (public transport/crowds), I probably would have coped better. Instead I suffered for years, trying to avoid situations where I would put myself under undue stress. Following counselling in my 30’s, I learnt to accept and embrace my ‘wobblies’ and since then, they have become fewer over the years – they still creep up on me though on occasions, but I’m not afraid of them any more.

In 2011, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and subsequently had my thyroid removed. Although the cancer has gone, I am still undergoing annual check ups at our local hospital as unlike other cancers, you never get completely discharged if it’s Thyroid Cancer. It has recently been confirmed that I have Fibromyalgia and I suffer with all the daily struggles that this awful disease brings with it. Following my thyroid removal, I have gone on to develop Osteoarthritis and now need to walk with the aid of a stick as I am very wobbly without (I look drunk lol) .

Despite all my problems, I count myself as being lucky as there are others far worse off than me. I love to craft whenever I can and I hope you enjoy looking at my products.
