I started quilting 8 years ago when I had to get my old faithful horse put to sleep. I wasn’t working at the time so wanted to find something to fill my days. I had watched a programme about quilting and thought that is something I would like to try. I have always enjoyed sewing anyway! I headed off to our local fabric shop and bought the necessary items to start, from then I was hooked.
I also do some knitting, from baby clothes to Shetland Heirloom Shawls (sometimes known as wedding ring shawls as when wet they can be pulled through a wedding ring). I was taught to knit these by a very old lady, sadly no longer with us, when I lived in Shetland.
