I have been on both sides of the coin really, I gave up my full time job in 2014 to become a carer for my mum who suffered from C.O.P.D since 2013, she had became unable to look after herself and was on oxygen 24/7
. During caring for her, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a condition I now realised I had been battling for over 17 years without diagnosis.
Knowledge about this condition wasn’t really mainstream and not a lot was or is still not known about it.
My main Symptoms ( although i can checklist for more or less all of the KNOWN symptoms) are:
Muscle & Joint pain
Fibro Fog ( forgetting names, things, actions etc)
Balance & co ordination issues Plus many many more……………
I began Crafting in 2000 and i first started out Card making fro friends and family to save money, this quickly developed into an obsession and i ended up with a room FULL of craft items.
I began to realized how costly crafting had become and with that and my mum’s illness i stopped for a while.
When my mum passed away in Nov 2017 she took my heart with her. I was lost, I suffered with a second bout of depression & anxiety ( the first after the loss of my sister 10 years previously) and of course I then had Fibo Flare ups and suffer a little more each week now.
One of my mum’s last bits of advice was make sure you live, do what you LOVE……
So i wanted to work with craft, i wanted to save fellow crafters money and i couldn’t claim my own benefits as my chap earns very well.
So mycraftybug was born, i don’t make a fortune but i save my customers one, i hand make gifts too as well as selling craft supplies and is been my saving grace during the worst of times and helped me keep my independace !!
