Description

This warm hat with earflaps is ideal winter wear. Knitted in a chunky wool in a textured pattern, this trapper hat has double layered earflaps and a decorative contrast band across the front. Also known as an aviator hat, it can be knitted in any colours, including school colours, or size from baby hat through to men’s extra large. Just complete the Colour and Size boxes on your order form. It is knitted in warm soft acrylic wool and is also suitable for those who prefer a vegan aviator hat, as it does not include leather in the design. As well as being a warm winter hat, it would also be suitable for fancy dress, eg steampunk or Halloween.

Hats with earflaps as in this design have always been worn in very cold climates. In Russia they are known as an ushanka and the style is also known as trapper hat or aviator hat due to the very cold conditions that hunters and pilots were exposed to. They are particularly fashionable at the moment and have seen on the heads of many celebrities.

To care for your hat, handwash it in warm soapy water and air dry. Do not iron.

Hi there. I make patchwork homewares, accessories and gifts made from recycled fabrics.I particularly like the scrappy look and am a great believer in recycling. I also love knitting hats in unusual styles, and cable patterns. I suffer from Fibromyalgia and sew and knit as and when I’m able.
