Description
This pretty, sparkly bracelet will add a bit of glitz to any occasion and has been hand made using the Japanese technique kumihimo.
The beads featured are cut miyuki seed beads in a gunmetal (almost black) colour. The ‘cut’ element of them means that the outer edge of each bead has been cut into an hexagonal shape, giving them a faceted look with lots of sparkle.
These beads have been strung onto 8 strands of black coloured S-Lon cord which have been brought together using the above technique to create a beaded braid.
The cords have been finished with a silver plated hook and eye clasp.
The width of the beaded braid is approximately 6mm (1/4″) and the bracelet is an ideal fit for a 16.5cm (6 1/2″) wrist.
Kumihimo is Japanese for ‘gathered threads’ and was first done as a form of finger-loop braiding that has since evolved into a form of braiding that can be done using only cords, or with beads added into each knot.
