Beautiful needle felted, fairy (faerie) called Gudrun (meaning ‘knowledgeable and wise’). This handcrafted fairy ornament is made from wool roving and wool locks.

Taking the seasons as inspiration, this autumnal fairy doll is carrying a lovely basket of flowers; burgundy and white roses, picked from her well tended fairy garden. She wears a beautiful burgundy rose and bow in her lovely dark blonde hair, and her dress is adorned with sparkly dark red jewels.

This particular fairy doll is dressed in burgundy and mauve, however my fairy dolls can be made in any colour or style of your choice. Please contact me / ask me a question, so we can discuss your special requirements.

Measuring approximately 18cm tall and 10cm wide (20cm wide inc. wings) these fairies make wonderful ornaments, and are a very special way to give fairy blessings and to show someone you truly care.

Fairy Gudrun comes in a handcrafted giftbox, with a name card that features the following poem…

I am a fairy, this is true,
And I would like to look after you,
Place me somewhere sunny and bright,
Tell me your hopes and wishes each night,
While you sleep, fairy magic I’ll make, and…
Closer to your dreams you will be when you wake.

Please note my fairies are collectable items so are not suitable for children under 14 years of age.

I am 42 years old,  and I am a single parent to my 20 year-old daughter, who is currently studying ‘Illustration’ at university. When I originally joined Conscious Crafties I was also caring for my 74 year-old Mum who sadly passed away on the 18th April 2017, and who is very sadly missed.

I, myself, was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 4 years ago, and I won’t lie, it took me at least 12 months to accept the diagnosis and a further 12 months to accept the limitations this illness imposes on me. I spent a long time alternating between being angry and mourning the active life I once had.

I am now accepting of this chronic illness and I work hard to try and manage my symptoms as best I can; crafting is the MOST important tool I have found to help me do this. Crafting helps me to relax; it helps reduce the feelings of anxiety and stress that I suffer, and it helps distract me from the pain I suffer every minute of every day.

I dreamed of setting up my own business ‘Share a lil Happiness’ following my redundancy (ill health) in December 2016. Sadly the start of 2017 was a challenging time, and so the business had to be put on hold until 01 May 2017 – when I launched Share a lil Happiness in memory of my Mum – the late Mrs Joan Cartwright.

I spent my 30’s enjoying gigs, music festivals and camping, but since becoming poorly I channel most of my energy into creating exquisite pieces of jewellery, (often taking music as inspiration for pieces), as well as producing mythical creatures in various mediums, such as fairy folk, angels and my own interpretations of the Green Man.

A keen Reiki practitioner (trained to Master level), I love to work with crystals and semi-precious gem stones, charging them all with reiki energy before selling or gifting them to friends.

Alongside the jewellery, art, and sculpture, I also plan to launch my own range of disability/chronic illness support products – as disability items are not often designed with the young at heart in mind.
