In August 2018, thanks to the love and support of my daughter, family and friends, I survived a subarachnoid haemorrhage and emergency brain surgery. This obviously meant time off work which gave me time to pursue my love of crafts that ‘normal’ everyday working life didn’t allow me to do. Six months later, just as I was preparing to go back to work I discovered that the initial brain surgery hadn’t been successful and I had to undergo further surgery and have more time at home rehabilitating and resting. My painting and embroidery is not only gives me much pleasure but helps maintain my fine motor skills, concentration and focus, decision making and combat the constant fatigue! I also live with fibromyalgia.
