I do love copper it is a very versatile precious metal and the wire is very malleable. Copper is reputed to be a metal that helps with arthritis, therefore i decided to make these adjustable for the wearer and easy to put on, I teamed up the copper with Amethyst which is a healing gemstone and makes this bracelet lovely to wear. Copper bangles i have seen are normally copper plain bands so i thought i need to brighten this up so it is gorgeous to wear with any outfit and any occasion. It comes in its own a plush box ready to be given as a gift for someone or a gift for yourself.

Learning from my artist and crafter mum from an early age, I became interested in all arts and crafts little knowing this will become a huge part of my life. I lost my job after 11 years due to the fact I could no longer be in the call centre, plus I was diagnosed with all sorts of problems with my back. I have several Prolapse and Degenerative Discs up my spine to the neck. I also have a piece of bone missing which in turn catches my Sciatic Nerve. My vertebrae has now also to be found to crumble. There is nothing that can be done and I am unable to walk in any lengths without being in constant pain. Add to this I suffer from Depression, BP and Under Active Thyroid. I also have Acoustic Shock Syndrome due to my late job.
During the stressful time of being in the process of them getting rid of me, I decided to get my City and Guilds in silver. I had already learnt beading and weaving from my late mum, so I decided that this was the path I was taking. When my job was at the end and having been told I could never work in the outside workforce, the decision I made was not to be angry but to take that energy and use it. I opened up a page on FB and now I attend 2 markets per week selling and exhibiting my jewellery. It has given me a new lease of life. I meet so many diverse people and made many friends on my journey. The best is that they accept me as I am, they see a talented lady with humour and not a bent over woman on sticks. My late mother had Parkinson’s and I now believe she may have seen this coming and prepared me for it. I love working in silver, I am registered at the Edinburgh Assay Office and have my own makers mark. Yes it took 5 years to get where I am today but would not change it for anything. Regardless of the pain it all gets forgotten when someone purchases one of my pieces which are my design that they love, my heart soars. I use genuine gemstones semi precious and precious too. Not one day I do not think of a design. Nature is the best inspiration for me and it is free and it is everywhere. I use other materials in my designs like metal clays. I’m always learning something different. I have also joined a group of artists called MDAT which I attend Arts Trails with.
