Here are 4 delightful coasters or small table mats, each featuring a small decorative panel picturing cats and kittens.
Each one is approximately 5.5” square (+/-0.25”) and handmade from oddments of cotton, wool, faux suede, needlecord, and linen blend fabric which I did not wish to discard. I love to use all my remnants and scraps of fabric and yarn wherever possible, adopting a ‘waste nothing’ approach to my sewing and other handcrafts.
The pictorial panels are machine appliquéd to the edging fabric, and their frames are top stitched for emphasis and stability. They each have a fabric backing, either in matching fabric (the tabby cat coasters) or a toning fabric (the grey cats).
They can be purchased separately at £4 each, including p0stage, or as the set of 4 for £14.
They make ideal gifts as they are easy to package and post.
These are ONE-OFF items. I have only one of each panel style and no more. However I will soon be listing two cushion covers, each of which has 4 of these panels in one piece on the front. I can also make more coasters with plain fronts if requested, in a variety of fabrics.
PLEASE NOTE that the tabby cat coasters have surrounds and backs that are more light green than shown by the photographs.

I learned to sew and knit many years ago as a small child. However, due mainly to pressures of work, I had done very little for about 25 years, until 2013 when I was largely immobilised by spinal disc prolapses and vertebrae degeneration causing severe pain. Starting to knit again, and then picking up cross-stitching again, helped me immensely as I battled with pain and waited for diagnosis and treatment, as I could see that I was still able to do something productive even though I was unable to go to work or move around the house easily. Two years later, and left with nerve damage in one leg and foot and walking difficulties, plus existing diabetes with associated issues and eyesight damage, I was forced to give up full-time work. This allowed me to concentrate further on handcrafts, dressmaking and craft sewing, which, combined with my inability to throw away even the smallest scraps of fabric and yarn, has led me to where I am now – setting up an online shop offering for sale items which I have made, with enthusiasm and love, from remnants and scraps of fabric and waste threads. It makes me happy, I hope my creations make you happy, and it helps the environment a little by avoiding waste.
